NORFIL Foundation, Incorporated is a non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and licensed and accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) since 1984. Our Philippine NGO Certification No. K-004 enables us to make your donations tax-exempt per Revenue Regulation No. 1398.
NORFIL Foundation was founded in 1984 by pioneering social work professional Ms. Angela Maria Pangan with help from Ms. Berit Gronvold, a Norwegian whose family did volunteer work in Pampanga and saw the need to extend more help and services to needy children, women and families in more areas in the Philippines. Since then, NORFIL Foundation has undertaken the role of one of the lead Philippine organizations championing the cause and welfare of children, youth, women and families in need.
The name NORFIL honors this initial partnership and collaboration with the government of Norway thru the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) which funded its programs from 1984 to 2001. After the partnership, the lessons learned through those years rendered NORFIL Foundation a good track record in social development, enabling the organization to continue its mission as a self-sustaining, resource-mobilizing and relevant non-government organization in the years to come.
