Position Summary
Responsible for the efficient and effective provision of accounting services
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the formulation, enhancement and implementation of effective financial management systems and internal controls that would adequately safeguard the agency’s funds and properties
- Take part in overseeing the implementation of the accounting system, policies and procedures
- As part of the 4-member Accounting Team, will be mainly involved in the execution of recording and summarizing tasks in General Accounting
- Monitor specific asset and liability accounts
- Prepare bank reconciliation reports for specific cash accounts
- Monitor budget for specific major funders/donors and alerts Supervisor regarding variances
- Prepare schedules and working papers for the Year-End Audit
Others
- Serve as back-up resource in the absence of other team members
- Perform other related functions as may be directed by the Immediate Superior.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and other related courses
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant
- Minimum of two (2) years of financial work experience
- Minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory job
- Work experience in non-government organization is an advantage
