NORFIL Foster Care

About the Program

Foster Care is temporary in nature. It can be for a short period or long term. The foster parents do not become the legal parents of the child but they give love and care that a child needs while NORFIL seeks a permanent home for the child.

The children found in the loving care of foster families are abandoned, neglected, maltreated, relinquished for adoption or from birth families who are temporarily unable to give them love and care. The children receive one-on-one care and are provided with appropriate stimulating activities suitable for their age and developmental growth.

Through foster care, the trauma of being separated from one’s family is mended. It is also a preparation for a child’s possible reunification with his/her birth family or permanent placement through legal adoption.

NORFIL is one of the few licensed child placement agencies in the Philippines.
